August 2018 : W Bro D Wright (PPSGD) regained the District Rose Bowl after recording the best round of all competitors in the Huddersfield District qualifying to compete in the Provincial Harewood Trophy competition. He also secured the cup for the best score for his handicap group. W Bro Wright had won both trophies previously but never in the same year. Finding himself confined to home during the 2020 pandemic lockdown W Bro Wright PPSGD, who had previously undertaken charity biked rides as seen on our Past News page, took advantage of his indoor cycling system to undertake a 'virtual' Lands End to Jon O Groats cycle ride.  He also took the opportunity to utilise this opportunity to use the ride to raise funds for Kirkwood Hopsice and in so doing raised £2000 through Just Giving donations and a donation from the Provincial Grand Masters fund! Great effort David!

Concord Lodge sails in to help local club!

August 2020: Halifax Sailing Club who are situated on 90 acres of water above Calderdale,  provide dinghy racing, social sailing, windsurfing, training courses, canoeing and kayaking. A grant of £1000 from the Provincial Grand Master’s Fund Covid-19 Emergency Grants and sponsored by Concord Lodge No 4126 will be used to purchase safety and associated equipment, including buoyancy aids, waterproofs, helmets and training literature.

Tuesday 15th September 2020 was a hugely significant day in the history of Concord Lodge as it was exactly 100 years to the day that the lodge was consecrated. The brethren of the lodge had been anticipating this day for some time and much planning had been done to celebrate the centenary. Given the ongoing restrictions surrounding the conrona virus pandemic these celebrations were obviously postponed.

However the brethren were not going to let this prevent them from celebrating the centenary in some way and accordingly a Zoom meeting was organised. This was 'attended' by 17 of the brethren as can be seen in the above photograph.

The meeting began with W Bro Collins our longest serving brother telling about some of the Founders of the Lodge and his own introduction into Freemasonry. Other brethren then added their own experiences before the WM proposed a toast to the Founders, former members of the Lodge, current and future members and the Lodge itself.

Here's looking forward to the day when we can reassemble and properly celebrate the centenary.
