Early 2016 W Bro D Wright PPSGD joined up with fellow riders from the Mirfield lodge to undertake a second ride in aid of the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution charity riding 153 miles from Mirfield Lodge to the Humber Bridge and back.This was following his participation in 2014 in the 300 mile 3 day Provincial Perimeter Pedal visiting lodge premises around the boundaries of Yorkshire & West Riding Province to raise money for the same charity. W. Bro K Bradley PPGReg provided logistical support throughout the 2014 event.

The funds were awarded to the band from the Provincial Grand Masters Fund following a bid for such funding by Concord Lodge.
Recently members of our lodge enjoyed a social weekend in Scotland during which they took in a visit to Rosslyn Chapel, Midlothian just south of Edinburgh. Bros Lester, Gilbert, Mellor and W. Bro Pearson PPDGDC kindly submitted the following photographs showing them visiting the Chapel.
Staff and youngsters at Netherthong Pre-School & Play Group have received a £500 cheque to buy equipment for their outdoor activity area. (July 2016) The donation came from the Provincial Grand Masters Fund, a masonic charity supporting worthy causes in the local community following an application by Concord Masonic Lodge. The cheque was presented to senior practitioner Melanie Kaye by W Bro Andrew Cribbis, charities steward of Concord Lodge. Melanie said: “We are grateful for the Freemasons for their support in boosting our fundraising efforts to buy the equipment that we need. Our children will greatly benefit from the improvements that we can now provide for their learning.”
Each year we conclude our meetings with our traditional Christmas Carol evening held on the final Tuesday before Christmas. This included the infamous rendition of "The 12 Days of Christmas" accompanied this year by members of the Meltham & Meltham Mills Brass Band.
Three Huddersfield area hospices recently received a funding boost from the Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF). Representatives from Dalton’s Kirkwood Hospice, the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice at Bracken Hall, and Elland’s Overgate Hospice, received grants totalling over £5,000. In addition Kirklees Mencap at Lindley Huddersfield took delivery of a new 16-seater mini bus (below) with the help of a £26,000 Masons’ grant. The photograph above shows representatives of the respective charities being presented with their cheques at a ceremony held at Greenhead Masonic Hall Huddersfield. February 2018 saw the celebration of 50 years Freemasonry service by W Bro K Davy PPJGW (centre). Our February lodge meeting saw a celebration of this momentous achievement at which he was presented with a certificate by W Bro J.B. Gledhill PSGD PAPGM (left). To make the evening that much more special the lodge meeting was led by W Bro F Collins PPJGW (right) who had initiated W Bro Davy when he joined Concord Lodge in 1968!.
